After a long hiatus, fyeahcows is back up and running.
Unfortunately I stopped because this terrible man, Jim Cross, who allegedly fixes computers in Rhode Island, broke my logic board while replacing the screen on my laptop. It costs $1600 to repair a broken logic board, but he wouldn’t even give me back the $400 he charged me to replace the screen, let alone take responsibility for the damage he caused. He actually had the nerve to accuse me of giving him an already broken computer to con him, but I’d taken it to the Apple store the day before and they’d confirmed everything but the screen was absolutely fine by hooking it up to an external monitor. He even told me he went “above and beyond” in attempting to fix the damage he caused, even though that basically consisted of deleting everything on my hard drive and leaving everything still broken.
I can’t believe this middle-aged man would rip off a broke college student in this way, but I don’t think there’s anything I can do. If you live in or anywhere near Rhode Island, do not let this man touch your computer, because his abilities and morals are both lacking. If he didn’t know how to fix my computer, he should have made that clear and not even touched it, but instead he still shirks responsibility to this day.
I can’t afford to replace or fix my laptop, so schoolwork has been a hassle, and consequently this blog too temporarily fell to the wayside. But I’ve been getting along fine with using school computers during the available hours, and promise to not let this blog go stale again! The queue is currently all lined up and you can expect plenty of cows in the future!
